Thomas MacLaren School is committed to your child’s health and wellness. Our staff is available to respond to emergencies, assess minor bumps and bruises, and evaluate students who feel ill, supporting those who need treatment and/or rest, or sending them home, if needed. Our goal is to partner with parents to provide the best care possible for students throughout the school year in order to help decrease the number of interruptions to their learning related to illness or complications from any health concerns.
To that end, good communication is key. The health team will strive to communicate in clear, concise and timely ways. We ask that you communicate with us as much as you can about your child(ren)’s health needs or concerns. The more we know, the better we can help care for them and also report the things we observe here at school back to you.
Health information for your child is gathered annually as part of the registration process. Parents receive The Annual Health Update by email as part of the electronic Student Update packet. Please click these links if anything changes mid-year or if you have specific questions in these areas: immunizations, medications, health care plans, or illness guidelines.
If ever you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email Terra Fisk, School Nurse, or call 719-313-4488 x130.
