The first week of the second semester is set aside for each student to pursue a major project. In the sixth, seventh and eighth grades this project involves doing research on a particular animal, event or country, writing a short report about their topic, and constructing a diorama or a map. In high school, the project involves writing a lengthy research paper on a topic connected to their Humane Letters course of studies, their math/science course of studies, or current events.
