The MacLaren String Quartet was founded in 2016 by four Colorado Springs Philharmonic members who were also on the Thomas MacLaren School orchestra faculty. Each hold advanced performance degrees in their given instrument and share a love spreading beauty through music.
- Keith Redpath, violin, holds a doctorate in violin performance.
- Catherine Hanson, viola, serves as principal violist of the Philharmonic.
- Michael Hanson, violin, serves as concertmaster of the Philharmonic.
- Andrew Kolb, cello, holds a doctorate in cello performance.
